The Benefits of Foam Rolling

Firstly, foam rolling is a form of self-myofascial release, or in simpler terms, it's a way to help your muscles relax.
It's like having a massage therapist on call after a grueling workout session. The pressure from the roller can help to 'iron out' the knots in your muscles and increase blood flow, which brings in nutrients and oxygen that your tired muscles are craving. This can help to reduce muscle soreness, or what's known in the fitness world as Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS).
So, if you're tired of walking around like a robot after leg day, foam rolling could be your new best friend.
But the benefits of foam rolling aren't just felt after your workout - they can also enhance your performance during your workout.
Regular foam rolling can improve your flexibility and range of motion. This means you can squat lower, reach further, and maybe even finally touch your toes (we've all been there). By improving your range of motion, foam rolling can help you to perform exercises with proper form and therefore, get the most out of your workout.
